Young Health Heroes Learn to Care Across Generations
29 August 2026
From learning healthcare tips to spending time with seniors, children discovered different ways to care for others.

Children aged 10 to 14 took part in SHINE @ North East – Young Health Heroes, where they explored the world of healthcare and learnt how to care for seniors in their community.
The young participants visited Changi General Hospital, where healthcare professionals guided them through hands-on activities and shared practical healthcare tips, including how to measure blood pressure. It was a chance for the children to try something new and pick up useful skills beyond the classroom.
Putting their newfound knowledge to use, the children spent time interacting with seniors and practising what they had learnt. Beyond healthcare skills, they also got to know the older generation through conversations and shared experiences, discovering that caring for others could be as simple as lending a listening ear.
