School Transport Assistance and Relief Scheme (STARS)
STARS offers financial aid for student transport from lower income families in the North East.

The scheme is applicable for students who are studying in Government or Government-Aided Primary, Secondary Schools including Special Education Schools and ITE/JC/Polytechnic/Undergraduate Diploma or equivalent. Tertiary students must currently be enrolled in full time study at Public/Private Educational Institutions/Madrasah with Singapore as main country of study. Educational Institution must be registered with Ministry of Education (MOE), Council for Private Education (CPE) or currently hold valid licenses.

Eligibility Criteria
Students living in the North East District who are studying in Primary, Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions*
Singaporeans or Permanent Residents with at least one Singaporean family member in the household
Per capita income (PCI) of $1,000 and below

Note:
Applicants currently receiving social or welfare assistance may not be eligible for the North East Local Assistance Schemes, as existing assistance will be considered in the assessment process.
